Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Research on Social Vulnerability was conducted in Aso (A) and Oshika peninsula (B). In A, a survey of a settlement was conducted 50 years after an initial survey in 1968/69. Also, some very precious historical sources could be found and archived. These had not been on the researcher's radar in the initial phase and will be a good resource for future projects. On the other had, more weight was planned for B in the project's second year, and a paper on the troublesome situation surrounding the sea squirt industry of southern Sanriku could be written. However, as traditional forms of publication takes much time, I'm still waiting for the final publication by the editors in charge. Nevertheless, this will be the first detailed account on the sea squirt industry of southern Sanriku ofter the 311 events, and it is actually uncovering unknown aspects in which the producers are currently in, such as the role of subsidies by TEPCO.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
