Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study explores how Japanese high school can be inclusive for vulnerable people who have been easily excluded ordinary practice in the curriculum of high school. It analyzes three high schools, where students with intellectual disabilities learn together with other students. It found that ways to make inclusive schools are different in each school in accordance with their context, even though they have similar historical backgrounds.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

ほぼ全員が高校へ進学するようになった現在、高校には共生社会への接続としての役割が求められている。通常高校のカリキュラムにおいて対象となっていない知的障害の人々も、共生社会の一員である以上、学力を理由に別学を継続するだけでは共生社会は実現しない。本研究では、これまで困難とされてきた高校での共生の多様なあり様を示すことによって、今後、多様なマイノリティとの共生を実現させていく方向性としていくつかの可能性を示唆した。
