Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は、初年度から継続して取り組んでいる、Chern-Simons重力理論の下でのアクシオンダークマターと重力波の相互作用について調べた。この理論では、重力波の波動方程式が修正されるため、一般相対性理論の重力波とは異なる特異な現象が現れる。初年度に、アクシオンダークマターの性質によって、重力波にパラメータ共鳴が生じ、特徴的な重力波が生じることがわかった。昨年度から本年度にかけて、パラメータ共鳴の他に、重力波の群速度と位相速度が光速から変化することがわかった。特に、群速度に関しては、aLIGOをはじめとする重力波観測実験によって与えられている重力波の速度の制限を用いることで、アクシオンダークマターのエネルギー密度、もしくは、Chern-Simons重力理論の結合の強さに対して、現在の上限よりも強い制限を与えることがわかった。また、この制限は、より低周波の重力波を用いることで、より強い制限を与える可能性のあることがわかった。これらの一連の研究は、重力波観測実験によって、アクシオンダークマターもしくは修正重力理論の探索に有効な手段であり、本主張を論文として執筆した。冒頭で述べたとおり、現在は論文誌に投稿・審査中である。本研究をもって、Chern-Simons重力理論におけるアクシオンダークマターによって引き起こされる重力波の主要な現象について調べる作業が完了し、余剰次元の存在や、ダークマターの起源に迫る方法を提案することができた。いまだ不完全な点としては、本手法を用いた実験データにおける解析が挙げられる。これは今後の課題である。
