Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、すばる望遠鏡のHSCから検出された銀河団の、跳ね返り半径(splashback radius)の研究に取り組んだ。筆頭著者として、成果を論文にまとめ、PASJに投稿し受理された。6年前に、高解像度シミュレーションから、銀河団に対応するダークマターハローにおける微分係数の極値から定義される密度が急激に変化する半径が、ダークマターなどの物質が典型的に脱出できない物理的半径に対応することが指摘され、跳ね返り半径と名付けられた。5年前から、他の望遠鏡であるSDSSとDESから測定された銀河団の跳ね返り半径は、弱重力レンズ信号の大きさと標準ΛCDM宇宙論モデルからの予測値より有意に20%ほど小さいことが知られていた。そのため、この数年間、標準モデルを超えた、自己相互作用するダークマターや修正重力理論、ダークエネルギーの性質で説明しようとする研究が盛んに行われてきた。私は、私の前年度の研究成果である弱重力レンズ効果による銀河団質量の測定結果を用い、すばる望遠鏡から検出された銀河団の跳ね返り半径を測定し予測値と比べた。すばる望遠鏡の深いデータによって、従来の研究成果より遠くの銀河団の跳ね返り半径への制限を加えた。しかし、従来研究とは異なり、本研究で測定された跳ね返り半径は、標準モデルの予測値と良い精度で一致した。SDSSとDESで使われていた銀河団検出アルゴリズムは、HSCで使われているものと異なるため、これらの違いが影響している可能性があった。そのため、私は、シミュレーション上に模擬銀河サンプルを作成し、新しく開発した手法で観測における系統誤差を調べたところ、従来研究における20%のずれは、観測の系統誤差で説明できることを世界で初めて示すことに成功した。つまり、跳ね返り半径の観測データは、標準ΛCDM宇宙論モデルの範囲で十分に説明できることを、世界で初めて示すことに成功した。
