Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成29年度と30年度に行った研究より、不安定姿勢でバランスを保持する能力が加齢により低下する要因として、姿勢を保持する筋群による発揮筋力の不安定性と皮質脊髄路の興奮性をモジュレートする能力の低下が考えられた。令和元年度は、バランス保持に特に重要となる下腿の筋群を用いて発揮筋力を一定に保持する制御機構に加齢が与える影響を下記の通り検証した。
被験者はPC画面に表示されるターゲット線に自身の発揮する力を合わせて一定に保持する課題を行った。実施動作は、足関節背屈と底屈であった。課題実施時には、前脛骨筋の近位と遠位、内側腓腹筋、ヒラメ筋より筋電図を取得した。発揮筋力の安定性の評価として、発揮筋力値の標準偏差と変動係数を算出した。また、筋電図間コヒーレンス解析を足関節背屈動作では前脛骨筋の近位と遠位間で、足関節底屈動作では内側腓腹筋とヒラメ筋間で実施した。そして、運動ニューロンプールの同期的な活動を反映するデルタ帯のコヒーレンス、および皮質脊髄路の興奮性を反映するベータ帯のコヒーレンスの平均値を各被験者で算出しグループ間で比較をした。その結果、発揮筋力値の標準偏差と変動係数は共に高齢者の方が高く、発揮する力の変動が加齢により増大することが明らかとなった。また、若年者と比較して高齢者のデルタ帯コヒーレンスは増大しており、ベータ帯コヒーレンスは低下していた。これらの結果より、足関節底背屈動作で発揮筋力を保持する課題実施時には、運動ニューロンプールの同期的な活動が高齢者で増大している一方、皮質脊髄路の興奮性は高齢者で低下している可能性が示唆された。
