Outline of Annual Research Achievements

生態学や保全生物学の研究において,個体の空間分布データは重要な情報であるが,このデータ収集のためどのように生態系を調査し定量化するべきかという知見は限られている。これらを数理的な解析や数値実験を通じて生態系アセスメントの理論として発展させ,生態系調査のための基盤を構築する事が求められている。前々年度より投稿中であった,時間・予算制約のもとで生態学的アセスメントを効率的に行うための理論的研究の論文の2度目の改訂作業を行い,年度内に論文がEcographyに受理された。改訂論文においては,第2種の過誤に加え第1種の過誤の影響も考慮できる様に数理モデルを拡張しており,より一般的な状況を扱える数理モデルとなっている。

生態系アセスメントの理論構築を行うにあたり,典型的な生態系パターンの動態を記述する数理モデルがあると,生態系アセスメント理論の効果を検証をする上で都合がよい。この目的のため前々年度より,その様なパターンの1つであるspecies range size frequency distributions(RSFDs)がどのような生態・進化的要因により決まるかを議論するための数理モデル研究を行い,論文を投稿していた。しかし未だ論文受理に至っておらず,本年度はこの論文の3度目の改訂を行った。この改訂においては,用いるRSFDsを規定するデータ範囲を北アメリカに限定し,再度モデルフィッティングを行った。これにより,フィッティング対象となる3つの分類群データ間において定義されている空間的領域が統一され,これらのデータ間で直接的な比較が行えるようにした。現在は改訂作業を終えて論文投稿中の状態にあり,速やかに論文が受理されることを目指している。
