超精密無歪み加工による硬X線用光学素子の開発とその応用

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

面間隔0.1 mmの内壁反射面を有するマイクロチャネルカット結晶デバイスの無歪み仕上げ加工法の開発を実施した.従来の系では対応できない極狭内壁面に対する新加工系として,厚さ0.075 mmの金属リボンを利用したプラズマ発生機構を考案した.基礎実験では,間隔0.1 mmで固定した2枚のSiウエハからなる試料系を構築し,アースの取り方を工夫することで,生成した微小プラズマによる内側のウエハ表面への除去加工が可能であることを確認した.続いて,既存機械加工技術により切り出したマイクロチャネルカット結晶の極狭内壁面に対して本手法を適用し,SPring-8で平面波X線を用いて反射面の結晶性を評価した.本手法適用前におけるX線反射像には,結晶ダメージ起因の反射プロファイルの乱れ,反射率低下が見られたが,本手法を適用することで乱れの少ないプロファイル,理論値近くの反射率の取得を達成した.作製された本デバイスをX線自由電子レーザー施設SACLAに導入したところ,これまで提案されていたXFELの高度化手法よりも高強度な狭帯域X線レーザーを生成できることが示された.
また,前年度までの研究で実用化に成功した硬X線分割・遅延ユニットを常設装置としてSACLAに導入した.海外の測定グループとの共同研究によって,X線ポンプ・X線プローブ法によるフォノン挙動分析や,X線光子相関分光法による水分子の高速ダイナミクス測定を実施し,物質科学分野に新たな知見をもたらした.同様の装置はその有用性の高さゆえに多くの海外放射光施設においても導入が検討されており,現在世界中から我々のグループに本ユニットのキーデバイスである高品質チャネルカット結晶の加工依頼が相次いでいる.以上より,開発した超精密無歪み加工技術はX線分析技術の世界標準の向上に寄与するとともに,モノづくり立国としての日本のプレゼンスを高める一翼を担っている.
