Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は，認知エフォートの意図的制御が注意を構成する3つの機能(警戒，定位，実行制御)，及び，その下位成分に及ぼす影響を検証することを目的とする。その認知エフォートの意図的制御に関して，課題遂行時における二つの認知方略に着目した。一つが，従来の研究で暗黙の前提としていた最大限のエフォートを投じ，課題成績を最大限に引き上げる戦略である。もう一つが，エフォートの投資を最小限に(節約)する戦略である(Irons & Leber, 2016)。段階的に研究を進めており，H31年度は以下の二つのプロジェクトを実施した。一つは，前年度の行動実験を継続し，二つの認知方略が注意機能(特に，定位)の下位成分に及ぼす影響を検証した。もう一つは，fMRIの測定結果に関して，関心領域(Region of Interest; ROI)等を用いた高度解析を継続し，ノイズとなった要因を前年度に引き続き行った。ただし，成果としては芳しくなく，前者の研究において，定位機能(特に，解放成分)の効率が向上する傾向が示されたが，注意において被験者の意図が及ぶ範囲を明確に特定するに至らなかった。後者の研究において，過去に同課題を用いた一連の研究をもとにROIを設定し，様々な視点・手法を用いて解析を進めたが，想定していた領域において賦活を確認することができなかった。
ただし，本研究課題の派生プロジェクトは，大きく進捗した。具体的には，原著論文が国際ジャーナル及び国内ジャーナルに 1 本ずつ採択・掲載され，国内外の学会にて 4回の主発表を行って いる。また，前年度内定していた１件の学会賞を受賞し，本年度も新たに2つの学会賞の内定を受けた。以上のことから，研究成果が対外的に認められたといえる。
