Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は,双曲-放物型方程式系におけるパターンダイナミクスの解明と,そのための解析手法の開発である.圧縮性Navier-Stokes方程式をはじめとする双曲-放物型方程式系については,方程式の持つ双曲型の側面により,放物型方程式に対して確立された数学理論が有効でなく,解析がより難しい.そこで,解析手法の開発の第一歩として,人工圧縮系における解析を行っている.人工圧縮系は,半線形双曲-放物型方程式に分類される方程式で,圧縮性Navier-Stokes方程式よりも双曲型の側面は弱いが,マッハ数をゼロとする極限で非圧縮Navier-Stokes方程式が得られるという圧縮性Navier-Stokes方程式との類似性を持ち合わせている.
今年度は,前年に引き続き,塩分濃度を考慮に入れた熱対流問題においてHopf分岐が起こる場合を考察した.静止状態から現れる時間周期解の分岐・安定性構造が人工圧縮系と非圧縮Navier-Stokes方程式とで同じになることは以前示した.それに加えて,人工マッハ数をゼロとする極限で,人工圧縮系の分岐時間周期解が非圧縮Navier-Stokes方程式のものに収束することを示した.この結果は,二重拡散現象などに適応することができ,現在論文にまとめているところである.
さらに,圧縮性Navier-Stokes方程式に対するTaylor-Couette問題の安定性解析に関する結果を論文にまとめた.この結果は,マッハ数が小さい場合にCouette流まわりの線形化作用素のスペクトルを詳細に調べることで,Couette流の不安定化が圧縮性Navier-Stokes方程式の場合も非圧縮のときと同様に起こることを示したものである.この論文はJ. Math. Fluid Mech,.に投稿した.
