高解像度台風-高潮結合アンサンブル予報システムの構築と検証

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2017年に開発したデータ同化システム (吉野ら,2018)を高緯度域においても適用できるよう改良し,2019年台風19号を対象に上陸時強度の再現実験を行った.その結果,海洋混合層厚さの初期値として,NOAAの気候値を用いた場合に比べて,台風強度の精度を向上させることができた.上陸時の中心気圧は,気象庁ベストトラックで955 hPa,本システムによる結果は955.3 hPaとなった.以上の結果より,発生から消滅までの台風全生涯においてデータ同化システムと台風モデルを組み合わせて運用することで,より高精度な台風強度の計算が可能となった.
また,上記のシステムにより高精度化された台風気象場を気象外力として高潮モデルに入力することで,2019年台風19号による高潮の再現実験を実施した.その結果,東京港における最高潮位偏差は1.47 mとなり,観測値(1.59 m)ともよく整合することが確認された.
さらに,再現実験を基準計算として,気象場の初期・境界条件を東西に0.5度ずつスライドさせることで,基準計算を含めた21ケースの多数の台風進路による進路アンサンブル実験も行った.これにより,東京港において最悪の高潮,またそれを引き起こす台風進路を明らかにした.同様の手法を各地の港湾において適用することにより,台風19号を基準外力とした被害想定を評価できるようになると期待される.また,入力条件に予報値を用いることで,高解像度台風-高潮結合モデルによる高精度な高潮予報が可能になるものと考えられる.
