Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は,画像による光学解析手法によって計測された材質特性をデジタルファブリケーションを用いて物理的に再現することである.最終年度は,材質が持つ光沢度の計測および再現に取り組んだ.光沢度は物体表面における光の反射現象に起因し,鏡面反射成分が重要な役割を担う.そこで,反射光の偏光状態を用いて光沢度を定義し,偏光光源と偏光カメラを用いた光沢度計測システムを構築した.鏡面反射は面法線に対する入射光と出射光の角度に依存するが,光源とカメラを可能な限り接近させ,平面状物体を対象とすることで,定量化した.光沢度再現では,UVプリンタのクリアインクを用い,インク層の数および印刷パターンに対する光沢度の関係性を明らかにした.光沢を持つ平面状物体を対象として,光沢度の計測および再現を実施した.また,機械学習導入のためのシミュレーション合成に取り組んだ.偏光状態を保持できる物理ベースレンダラを用いて定義した半透明度および光沢度を仮想的に計測できるソフトウェアを開発した.3DプリンタやUVプリンタに用いられるインクの材質特性を計測し,ソフトウェアに導入することによって仮想的に印刷物体の外観を再現できた.研究期間全体として,半透明度の計測および再現はおおむね達成でき,光沢度の計測および再現は一定の成果を得ることができた.機械学習によるインバースレンダリングには取り組めていないが,様々な印刷条件において印刷される物体の外観を仮想的に合成できるようになったため,実施可能性を大きく高めることができた.
