Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は,ユーザの身体動作による入力に対してシステムが補正を加えることでパフォーマンス向上を図る人間機械協調システムにおいて,システムから補正を加えた場合でも自らが操作しているという感覚である「行為主体感」をユーザに生起させるためのインタフェース設計法を明らかにし,構築することであった.昨年度の研究成果によって,アバタの見た目というトップダウンの要素がユーザの知覚判断に大きく影響することが明らかになったため,アバタの見た目の設計によって行為主体感やシステム利用時のユーザの振る舞いを設計できるという点に焦点を絞って研究を行った.本年度は,以下の3点が主な研究成果であった.
(1) アバタの見た目の抽象化が,矛盾する視覚運動情報下での行為主体感に影響することを示した.この結果は,人型アバタの利用によって視覚--固有感覚統合が促進され,システムによる補正が大きい場合にもユーザが行為主体感を生起しやすくなることを示すものである.論文は,IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphicsに採択された.
(2) アバタの見た目の抽象化がバーチャル空間でのユーザ行動に与える影響を検討した.結果,見た目が本物の人間に近いアバタであるほど,実験参加者が現実空間での行動に近い行動を取ることが示された.論文はACM CHI 2020に採択され,Honorable Mention Award(Top 5%)を受賞した.
(3) 上述2点の研究と昨年度のIEEE VR採択論文の研究成果を,「自己アバタの見た目がVR空間内でのユーザの知覚や行動に与える影響」という観点から俯瞰的に整理することで,VR空間での自己アバタの見た目によってVR空間でのユーザの知覚や行動を制御するという新しいアプローチを提案する博士論文を提出した.
