Outline of Annual Research Achievements

21世紀の産業界では,「高質感」のもの作りが求められ量から質への転換が要請されている中で,製造現場において製品の高質感に関わる加工パラメータの設定が喫緊の課題である。本研究は,このような現状を踏まえて,質感認知特性に基づいた高質感の表面加工システムの提案を目指して,質感認知の脳内処理メカニズムの解明,高質感に寄与する物体属性パラメータの特定を一体化した工学・脳科学融合の研究を推進してきた。これまでの研究成果は,主に下記の4項目に要約できる。1)触覚と視覚の記憶の継時的形成過程に注目した学習パラダイムを適用した心理物理学実験の実施により,素材の物理特性と質感評価の関係を検討した。2)fMRI実験の実施により,視触覚クロスモーダルな質感認知の視覚情報優位性を明らかにした。3)PPI(Psycho-Physiologic Interaction)解析・拡散テンソル画像解析を取り入れ,質感認知の脳内機能的・解剖的ネットワークを検討した。4)素材の物理パラメータ・質感評価データ・脳活動パターンの三者の関係性を検討でき,表面加工質感情報データベース・モデルを提案した。
今後,代表者は,これらの研究成果をさらに発展させて,マルチモーダルな質感認知の脳機能の理解を深めると同時に,加工パラメータによる仕上げ製品の質感評価や製品の質感向上への応用を進めていく。
