地上‐電離圏‐磁気圏の電磁場同時観測に基づく赤道域長周期振動の発生・伝播機構

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、高緯度から赤道への電場侵入と昼夜電離圏電場伝播過程を同時かつ直接的に把握するために、多点電離圏電場観測を行う。初年度に引き続き、既設の電離圏電場観測機器FM-CWレーダー観測点(日本、ロシア)の整備と新規観測点(ペルー)の設置に取り組んだ。2018年12月にペルーでの新規観測点の構築を完了させ、試験期間を経て2019年3月より日本、ロシア、ペルーにおける多点電離圏電場観測の定常運用を行なっている。これによって、極域-低緯度-赤道域での地上磁場観測と電離圏電場観測の電磁場同時観測を可能とする。各観測点では、電離圏高度分布を把握するためのイオノゾンデ観測を3分毎に実施することで、磁気圏静穏時・擾乱時における電離圏環境変動について従来より高時間分解能で把握することを可能とした。また、放射線帯電子変動に対応する磁気圏の小規模擾乱期間において、赤道域長周期振動グローバルPc5と電離圏変動のキャンペー観測にも成功した。これらの観測成果は、磁気圏擾乱時の電離圏高度分布変動から太陽風電場の磁気圏への侵入を定量的な評価を可能とするとともに、赤道域長周期振動グローバルPc5の発生機構の解明ならびに、グローバルPc5が放射線帯電子増加の源である太陽風構造推定において有効なプロキシとしての役割を担えるかどうかを調査・検討するための手かがりとなる初期結果となった。本研究の成果は、国内学会ならびに国際学会(招待講演)にて発表するとともに国際学会プロシーディング論文を出版した。
