Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the cloud computing environment, I have conducted research to realize a design technology using FPGA components in the cloud by implementing the following three points, as a technology for handling circuits on FPGA as reusable components like software. (1) HW/SW communication method optimized according to the application (2) Reusable HW component method (3) Reduction of FPGA compilation time by physical mapping of components

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、クラウド計算機環境においてFPGAを利用したリコンフィギャラブルシステムの設計生産性の向上を狙うものである。FPGAをコンポーネントとして扱う設計手法を提案し、実際にロボットとクラウドを連携するシステムを構築して実証する点で学術的特色がある。部品の静的・動的リンクによってソフトウェア同様の設計環境を構築することが可能となる点、およびコンポーネントの物理マッピングによって、FPGAコンパイル時間の短縮を行う点で独創的で本研究により、有益な知的機能が次々とハードウェア部品化され流通するための基盤として貢献する。
