Outline of Final Research Achievements

Virtual reality can be easily realized with head-mounted displays using smart phones. This research established a mobile job-training system that can be executed at home, job-training contents generation method suitable for virtual reality environment, and a behavior evaluation method in job-training.
The only way to obtain job-knowledge was to read manuals outside of training facilities. In contrast, this research realized virtual environments that enable realistic job-training in anywhere.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の成果は,多様な職業における新人の教育・研修コストを低減させる.仮想現実環境を職業訓練用途に用いる研究は多数存在するが,大規模な装置を必要とするなど手軽に導入可能とは言い難い.本研究ではスマートホンと安価なヘッドマウントディスプレイのみを利用し,PCを用意する必要もなく,ケーブル類の制約がないためユーザが自由に仮想空間内を移動することができる.このような環境を用いることで,自宅等で自由に実行可能なモバイル職業訓練システムを構築できる.
