Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results of this research are summarized in the following two points: (1) By elucidating the relationship between photography and fetishism, this research succeeded in integrating the history of photography into the history of Western thought. Above all, it succeeded in bringing a new perspective to the study of photography, which has traditionally considered a photograph as a physical trace. (2) It showed that the emergence of fetishism was deeply linked to the establishment of the modern concept of "property" in the early 19th century in Europe.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
