Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Shinbi Tanaka, who made the reproductions from the Meiji era to the Showa era, spread the calligraphy to collectors. In this research project, we collected the data of the reproductions made by Shinbi Tanaka. Then, we conducted a survey of reproductions and interviews with descendants. Tanaka made five sets of reproductions of the sutras donated by the Heike clan owned by Itsukushima Shrine. A comparative study was conducted between the reproduction that were delivered to the Masuda family and the Okura family. The results of the survey were released at an exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum.
