| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research explored the relationship between the creations of Alain Robbe-Grillet(especially the "Romanesque" trilogy), leader of the "Nouveau Roman" and Wagner's musical dramas (especially "Der Ring des Nibelungen"). It also traces Wagner's influence on Julien Gracq, focusing on his essays and novels (especially "Un balcon en foret"). By doing so, this study clarified the characteristics of "Wagnerism" in French literature in the latter half of the 20th century, that is, after World War II. In addition, related French books have been translated and published.

20 世紀後半のフランス文学へのワーグナーの影響は、従来あまり顧みられることがなかったが、これを比較文学的な視座から跡づけた。とくにジュリアン・グラックとアラン・ロブ=グリエの著作に焦点を絞り、彼らの特異性に応じたワーグナー受容のありかたを究明した。同時に、フランス19 世紀末以来の文学的ワグネリスムの伝統のうちにこれらの作家たちを位置づけなおし、その継承と断絶の両側面を明るみに出した。ワーグナー受容というプリズムを通して、上記の作家に代表される戦後フランス文学の特徴を、時代性と地域性とに関連づけながら照らし出した。
