Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to explore the political behavior of the people with migrant’s background, especially in relation to the national consciousness of a host society. As regards the election behavior of new citizens, it is pointed out that they often support the middle-left party, generous toward immigrants. In the case of Austria, migrant people from Turkey followed such a pattern, yet, those from Serbia deviated from it, strongly supporting FPOe. The political behavior of a naturalized person is not only motivated by class interests but also by identity politics. Here one can observe the process by which he/she identify themselves with social images presented by parties of the host society.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
