Outline of Final Research Achievements

The design of mechanisms for allocating resources based on the private information of individuals who form a society was discussed. In particular, we analyzed mechanisms for allocating indivisible goods in situations where money can be transferred among individuals. First, we designed a set of mechanisms that are superior to the well-known Groves mechanisms in terms of efficiency and fairness. Second, we proved that it is impossible to design a mechanism that simultaneously achieves strategy-proofness, efficiency, and fairness.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

社会を形成する人々の私的情報に基づいて、資源配分を行うためのメカニズムの設計について考察した。これまでに、公共財の供給・オークション・マッチングといった身近な経済問題に対して、耐戦略性を満たすメカニズムの設計に関する研究が盛んに行われている。本研究では、非分割財配分という伝統的な経済問題に対して、耐戦略性を満たすメカニズムの設計に関する研究を行い、いくつかの重要な研究成果を挙げることができた。
