| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We examined intra-firm trade based on micro-data of Japanese multinational firms. Descriptive statistics from our survey data show that only a limited share of firms are involved in intra-firm trade, especially trade in service. The regression results show that offshore affiliates located in developing countries and in vertically integrated industries tend to be active in intra-firm trade. We also conducted related empirical econometric research based on micro-data and found significant relationships between individual attributes and their supports for trade liberalization.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
企業内貿易は、世界の貿易において大きな比重を占めているが、データの制約もあって、その理解は未だ十分でない。特にサービス貿易は拡大していることから、企業内貿易についても、財のみならずサービスも含めた検討が必要になっている。本研究では、サービスと財を区別した企業アンケート、財だけでなくサービスも含む政府統計の企業ミクロデータの双方を用いて分析した結果、企業内貿易を行っている企業は一部に限られること、海外子会社の立地国や産業連関が影響することなどが見出された。
