Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, a grouping method for autonomous vehicles around inter section area is considered. The following 3 steps are considered: 1. grouping algorithm, 2. adaptive cruise control method for making the group, 3. traffic control method for improving fuel consumption.
Traffic simulation is carried out to confirm the effect of the proposed method. The simulation result shows that the proposed method reduce the fuel consumption with respect to the non-control case.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では,交差点エリアで車群を形成して,信号機と連動した制御を行うことで,交通の流れを円滑にすることを目的とする.具体的には,1.対象エリアの車両をグループ化し車群を形成する手法,2.グループ化するための車両の制御方法,3.交通流の円滑化のための制御方法,の3つを研究した.交通流シミュレータを使用しシミュレーションを行ったところ,グループ化をすることで交通の流れが良くなり省燃費化することができた.持続可能な社会の実現に向けて,高度な交通システムの制御ができていることが確認できた.
