| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to verify the regional revitalization effect of local currency based on rice cultivation and to present a more practical regional currency system.
In this research, we practiced rice cultivation by volunteers without using pesticides or using machinery as much as possible. regional currency was issued using the sales of the rice produced and distributed to citizens who participated in various volunteer activities to verify the economic cycle in the region.
In addition to this activity, we developed a "regional currency game" to help people realize the impact of regional currency circulation on the local economy.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
日本においては、1990年代に地域通貨が多くの地域で導入されたが、その後そのほとんどの地域で流通活動は衰退してしまった。なぜ地域経済を活性化させるための地域通貨流通活動は持続されないのか、その原因を実際に地域通貨を流通させる社会実験を通して検証することは非常に重要である。その結果、地域通貨流通を持続させるためにはやはり、補助金以外の独自の財源確保の重要性が明確化された。
財源確保には市民の理解と協力が必要となる。このため市民に向けた広報・啓蒙活動は非常に重要であり、本研究では、市民に理解を深めてもらうための「地域通貨ゲーム」の開発に成功している。
