Outline of Final Research Achievements

Development of forecasting models for insect pest management is an important part of integrated pest management systems. We developed the models and risk mapping methods for insect pest management of paddy fields, using Geographic Information System and statistical modeling.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

従来の害虫の発生予察は、各年の対象害虫の発生量を地域スケールで予測するもので、圃場間に生じる発生量の多少を予測することは不可能であった。本課題で構築するモデルは、任意の水田における害虫の発生と被害予測を行うぎじゅちゅ開発の基盤を形成できた。
