Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Irradiation of blue LEDs had a killing effect on antibiotic-resistant H. pylori strains against Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, Levofloxacin, and Metronidazole, and one susceptible Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) strain. It was found that H. pylori increased ROS production in H. pylori as a mechanism by which H. pylori was accompanied by morphological changes during the death process.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
1.複数のピロリ菌株への青色LED光線照射により死滅効果が確認でき、薬物療法を代替する治療あるいはその補助療法として臨床応用が期待できる。 2.薬剤耐性株に対しても死滅効果が確認できたため、薬剤耐性ピロリ菌感染者に対する新規治療法の足掛かりとなりうる。
