Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program designed to enhance the knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs necessary for providing individualized excretion care to older adults individuals with voiding disorders. A manual on excretion care for the elderly was created as a teaching material for the educational program. The program included study sessions and ongoing case study meetings that utilized the manual.
The educational program was implemented for caregivers working in nursing homes for older adults. As a result, an improvement and retention of knowledge related to excretion care were observed, but no changes were noted in attitudes and beliefs regarding excretion care.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
