Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The subjects of the study were inpatients with schizophrenia. We collected data on PANSS, MMSE, the Japanese version of NEI VFQ-25, visual acuity measurement using an automatic visual acuity meter, and SE value using an autorefkeratometer. Our results showed no significant correlation between visual acuity (logMAR), SE value, PANSS, and MMSE. Multiple regression analysis also showed no significant difference, but in the short-term morbidity group (Group A), unlike in the long-term morbidity group (Group B), SE values were negatively associated with the total score of PANSS. In addition, negative symptoms tend to strengthen this relationship. Regarding VFQ-25, in Group A, the mean score of logMAR was positively associated with the score of VFQ-25, but in group B, it was negatively associated.
