| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
First, in this study, statistics were gathered from newspaper articles to analyze public events held in the "public hall," on the modern Korean Peninsula. The purpose was to identify the types of events (expositions, competitions, gatherings, workshops, committees, discussion groups, concerts, film clubs, weddings, funerals, etc.) that took place and determine their respective numbers.
Second, I investigated the perception of "cultural policy" in colonial Korea and the role of the public hall within this cultural policy framework.
Third, despite the challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19 and strained relations between the two countries, I visited the location where the public hall used to stand, assessed the current situation, and examined the preservation and passing down of its historical significance.
