In this study, we investigated the mental health problems of parents who have lost a child during the perinatal period and examined what kind of problems they experience in the long term.
We conducted an online survey of 186 subjects and were able to develop a Japanese version of the Perinatal Grief Scale (PGS), a psychological scale to measure grief caused by perinatal loss. It was also found that the psychological problems caused by perinatal loss tended to differ between men and women.
