Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Although mitophagy in the pathogenic yeast Candida glabrata has been shown to be involved in pathogenicity, adaptation to the host environment, and maintenance of survival in an iron-deficient environment, its detailed role in these processes was not known. In this study, we show that CgATG32, a mitophagy essential gene in C. glabrata, is involved in survival in neutrophils.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
