Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Questionnaires about sleep habits, symptoms, and problems in schools or works were performed on 109 patients who made their first visit to Ehime University Hospital Center for Sleep Medicine. They also underwent psychomotor vigilance task (PVT). The same test batteries were repeated after more than three months of treatment on 49 patients. As a result, subjective sleepiness, symptoms of sleep disorders, and objective sleepiness measured by PVT of the patients were improved significantly. Also, presenteeism of the patients were improved significantly, which implied treatment of sleep disorders may contribute to increase of productivity in worksites.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
