Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a disease for which no objective diagnostic method or effective treatment has been established. Basic research has reported that abnormal muscle tone is associated with CFS. In this study, we aimed to establish and validate the efficacy of a treatment method that combines exercise therapy with a focus on abnormal muscle tone, but we have not yet been able to validate the efficacy of this method due to insufficient accumulation of sufficient cases. On the other hand, in the measurement of upper limb positional sensation using a digital angle meter as part of physical assessment, we confirmed that positional sensation was significantly lower in the CFS patient group than in the other disease or healthy subjects group. This may be an objective abnormality specific to CFS that can be measured at the bedside.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
