Outline of Final Research Achievements

Compared to the conventional WT1-peptide vaccine, our oral cancer vaccine maintains long-term high rate of WT1-specific killer T cells and has a greater anti-tumor effect in killing assay in mouse model. As for gut immunity, WT1-specific kiler T cells increase at the mesentric lymph nodes, not at Peyer's patch. We got several epitopes candidates by epitope analysis. We currently Ihave considered in detail. When the glioblastoma cells were innocuated at the mouse's brain, they survive longer if they are administered with oral vaccine and immunocheckpoint inhibitor together.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本経口がんワクチンは投与方法が簡便であることから、がん治療の種々の場面で用いることができる。これまでの化学療法と違い、腫瘍免疫応答を介した薬剤であるため、既存の治療では改善が見込めなかった患者にも使用していくことができる。今回の研究で免疫チェックポイント阻害剤と併用することで治療効果が高まることが判明した。また抗原となる可能性のある候補エピトープが得られたことから、今後HLA拘束性の検討を行う予定である。
