Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
急性脳症の国内発症数は年間推定400~700名、この中でAESDは最も頻度が高く、年間100~200人であり、小児神経学領域で最重要課題である。また本疾患については本邦からの報告がほとんどである。本研究ではAESD病変のMRI定量的解析を行い、急性期病変が広く萎縮が強い症例ほど遠隔期にてんかん発症しやすい傾向があることを明らかにした。
