Outline of Final Research Achievements

SITA-Standard visual field measurement algorithm built in Humphrey Field Analyser is widely used. However, an algorithm better than SITA-Standard has not been developed for more than a couple of decades. In this study, we developed a faster visual field measurement algorithm. We believe that it would be useful in the clinical settings.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

視野検査は両眼で10分程度かかり、その間患者は集中して視野測定を行う必要がある。測定時間が長いと疲労効果により視野の感度が下がることが示されている。また途中で集中がなくなり、視野検査の継続が困難となることもある。従って短時間で視野検査を行うことの利点は多い。
本研究のアルゴリズムにより、短時間でSITA-Standardと互換性のある同等の結果を得ることがしめされた。また再現性も同等であった。従って、臨床的に本アルゴリズムは有用であると考えられる。
