Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research develops a robot interaction that humans estimate the operation condition of the autonomous vehicle system intuitively and continuously. We use a communication robot as an in-vehicle interface for taking effective actions at appropriate timing. For realizing, we propose a sense of danger degree that a human feels danger for approaching objects. Furthermore, a state estimation system based on learning is developed for taking robot action at an appropriate timing according to the sense of danger. Through experiments, we showed that a passenger estimates an operation condition of the vehicle control system intuitively by the robot action. On the other hand, we showed that the information other than the vision is required to decide appropriate action timing in the real environment.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
