Outline of Final Research Achievements |
While rotating polyanions have been acknowledged as significantly promoting cation transport in solid matter, the high temperature required to activate rotation has been a practical drawback. In this study, we proposed transition-metal hydride complexes with high hydrogen coordination as a new class of rotatable polyanions. By means of a combined theoretical and experimental approach, we succeeded in capturing the emergence of "pseudorotation" that is expected to lead to a development of new solid-state ionics.
