This study is theoretically concerned with how educational governance may affect schooling, particularly citizenship education, and future democracy and political participation. We have also empirically analyzed survey data of an international comparative study. This study revealed that political factors and school factors, such as partisanship, degree of democracy, and school autonomy, influence classroom climate, crucial in citizenship education.
