Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This research project draws on East Asian medical insights for treating longstanding regional conflicts as political illness. In so doing, it seeks to go beyond conventional state-centric paradigms in the study of international relations that perpetuate such conflicts in the first place. In AY2022, project members published one article with Third World Quarterly (Routledge) as part of its forthcoming special issue on 'Political Healing in East Asian International Relations'.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Although the global pandemic was gradually winding down in AY2022, it slowed down the PI and other project members' efforts to complete research and writing as well as the reviewers and editors' implementation of quality control. A junior member put aside the revision of her paper for 5 months to prioritize her PhD thesis. As of Mar 2023, 7 out of 9 TWQ special issue articles have been published online.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
AY2023 is the very last phase of this extended project. It is expected that the last two articles in the line-up will be accepted in summer 2023, including the PI's introductory article for the special issue. It is expected that the entire issue will be available in the second half of the year.
