Research Abstract

今年度は,単一ニューロンのスパイク列の統計量から,そのニューロンが埋め込まれているコラムなどの機能モジュールの神経メカニズムと計算理論がどの程度推定できるかを議論した.これまで我々は,スパイク間隔ISI (Inter Spike Interval)がガンマ分布によって記述されると仮定し研究を進めてきた.ガンマ分布は発火率λとスパイク発火の不規則性をあらわすκの二つのパラメータで記述される.昨年度は,発火率λが変動する場合でも,スパイクの不規則性κは神経細胞ごとに決まった値をとると仮定し,新たなスパイク統計指標SIを提案した.本年度は,ニューロンのISIがλ変動・κ固定型ガンマ分布で記述できる条件を,計算機実験とスライス実験で求めた.局所回路また機能モジュールに埋め込まれているニューロンを考える.このニューロンへの数多くのシナプス入力は足しあわされ,興奮性と抑制性の二つのシナプス入力におきかえられる.これら足しあわされた入力を平均場シナプス入力と呼ぼう.ここでは,興奮性と抑制性の平均揚シナプス入力がどのような統計的特性をもつときに,ISIがλ変動・κ固定型ガンマ分布で記述できるかをさぐった.我々は,興奮性および抑制性コンダクタンスを,ガウス分布を入力とする一次遅れ系で記述した.結果として,興奮性入力と抑制性入力の比が一定の関係を保ちながら時間変化する場合,スパイクの不規則性κが一定に保たれることがわかった.これは,機能モジュールやコラムにおいて,常に興奮性と抑制性のニューロンの全体的な挙動がバランスする状態に保たれていることを示唆する.この知見はスパイクの統計性が,機能モジユールに代表される局所回路の構造と力学的な性質に密接に関係していることを明快に示した初めての例である
