Research Abstract

我々はこれまで,屈曲した分子骨格を有するドナー分子を用いた磁性伝導体の開発を行っている。今回,強いπ-d相互作用を実現させることを目的として,新規な1,3-ジセレノール誘導体(EDT-DSDTFVODS,1)を合成し,そのFeBr_4塩,(1)_2FeBr_4の作製と結晶構造および電気伝導・磁気性質について検討した。(l)_2FeBr_4は1の定電流電解により黒色板状結晶として得られた。結晶中では,ドナー分子はABB'A'のように四量体を形成する。B-B'間の重なり積分は27.1×10^<-3>と大きいが,A-A'間,A-B間の値は-3.5,-5.4(×10^<-3>)と小さく,電子構造的には強い二量化が示唆され,バンド計算からバンドギャップの開いた半導体であることが予想された。S…Br間およびSe…Br間には,それぞれ3.78,3.56Åの短い接触があり,強いπ-d相互作用の存在を示唆する。一方,Br…Br間の距離は4.03,4.30および4.67Åであり,d-d相互作用は比較的弱いと考えられる。(l)_2FeBr_4の室温電気伝導度は0.1 S cm-1であり,室温から半導体的な伝導挙動(E_a=50-70 meV)を示した。(l)_2FeBr4の磁化率の温度依存性はCurie-Weiss則に従い,Fe(III)dスピンは強く反強磁性的(θ= -15.5K)に相互作用した。さらに磁化率は6.5 K付近で極大になった後に減少するが,4K以下で再び増大した。比熱測定による比熱のピークから磁気相転移温度は3.8 Kであった。各結晶軸の磁化(M)の磁場(H)依存により,磁化容易軸はドナー積層横方向(H//b)であり,残留磁化は2 kOe付近で消失した。この結果より,この塩は3.8 Kで弱強磁性(飽和磁化:4×10^<-2>μ_B,保持力:380 Oe)を示した。
