Research Abstract

新機能性発現が期待される生体高分子及びコロイド内包カーボンナノチューブの創製を目的とし,従来の気相中のプラズマ理工学的手法を3種類の溶液系マイクロプラズマ(溶液中アーク放電マイクロプラズマ,溶液中電解質マイクロプラズマ,気相-液相界面グロー放電マイクロプラズマ)に適用した実験を行った.
1.シリコンナノ粒子(コロイド)の粒径制御を目的とした溶液中放電マイクロプラズマによる実験では,シリコン電極を用いた溶液中アーク放電によって,結晶性を有するシリコンナノ粒子の形成に成功し,電極材質,溶液の種類を変化させることでナノ粒子の粒径を制御できる可能性を示した.
2.DNA及びイオン液体内包カーボンナノチューブ創製を目的とした溶液中電解質マイクロプラズマによる実験では,塩基配列を制御したDNA,極性の異なるイオン液体を電場印加によりカーボンナノチューブへ内包させることで,カーボンナノチューブの電気的特性を制御できることを明らかにし,ナノバイオデバイス応用への可能性を見出した.
3.気相-液相界面グロー放電マイクロプラズマの生成・制御実験では,蒸気圧が極低いイオン液体を大気圧及び真空プラズマ系に導入することによって,気相-液相界面放電マイクロプラズマの生成に成功し,イオン液体表面上にシース電場が形成され,それにより加速された気体プラズマ中のイオンが液相との界面領域へ照射されていることを明らかにした.さらに,気相-液相界面での物理的,化学的反応を利用したプラズマプロセスによる新規ナノ物質創製を目指した実験を開始し,ナノ粒子合成に対するプラズマイオン照射の有用性を明らかにしつつある.
