Research Abstract

PhI(OAc)_2[Phenyliodine diacetate(PIDA)]、PhI(OCOCF_3)_2[phenyliodine bis(trifluoro-acetate)(PIFA)]に代表される3価の超原子価有機ヨウ素(III)反応剤は、毒性の高い鉛(IV)、水銀(II)やタリウム(III)などの重金属酸化剤と類似の反応性を示し、かつ毒性が低く取り扱い易いため、環境調和を志向する現代の有機合成に即した反応剤である。これらは室温、中性付近で有用な反応性を示すため、特に天然物や医薬品中間体など複雑で官能基を多数持つ化合物の合成に威力を発揮する。本研究では超原子価ヨウ素反応剤の実用化に向けて、まずPIDAやPIFAに代わるより有用な「新反応剤(リサイクル型反応剤、水中高活性型反応剤、不斉反応剤)」の開発に焦点を絞った研究に積極的に取り組んだ。また、量論反応剤であったPIDAやPIFAの「触媒的利用」を同時に推し進め、これら超原子価ヨウ素反応剤の有効利用の拡大から環境調和型酸化反応へと展開した。
1.低分子リサイクル型反応剤の応用範囲の拡張を目指し、天然物や生物活性物質中に必須である複素環化合物への反応性とその際のリサイクルについて検証した。
2.先に見出した触媒的利用法を様々な結合形成へと拡張し、世界で初めてとなる炭素-窒素結合形成反応に成功した。また、これらの鍵反応で強酸を用いない、室温・中性付近の緩和な新規触媒系へと改良した。
