Research Abstract

哺乳類中枢神経系内シナプスの機能と形態の性質およびそれらの相関を単一シナプスレベルで解明することをめざし、海馬錐体細胞と小脳プルキンエ細胞上に形成されるグルタミン酸作動性興奮性ミナプスを比較研究した。海馬のシナプスにおいては、シナプス応答の強さとシナプス後部スパインの大きさが相関し、小脳シナプスにおいてはシナプス前膨大とシナプス後スパインの大きさが相関するなど、両シナプスの違いが明らかになった。
