Research Abstract

SWCNT内部に、塩化鉄や色素分子、レチナール-C60複合体、βカロテン分子、水分子等を挿入し、その構造や電子状態の変化を調べた。色素分子の場合、フォトルミネッセンスの測定から、内部の色素が吸収した光のエネルギーがSWCNTに移動し、そのエネルギーでSWCNTが発光するという興味深い現象を見いだした。また、レチナール分子のシスートランス変位の電子顕微鏡による直接観察、内包された水分子によるナノバルブの効果等、これまで実現できなかった観測、新たな物理現象の発見に成功した。
