Research Abstract

人工関節において現在最も改良が期待されている摺動部材のセラミックスについて、カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)を用いた新規複合体の開発を行った。高分散処理したCNTを高純度アルミナ粉末と混合し、真空焼結とHIP処理の併用やプラズマ焼結することにより複合体を作製した。CNTが均一混合した緻密な複合体が得られ、高強度、高靭性を示した。また、CNTを生体材料として用いる場合に重要な生体適合性を評価し、CNTおよびその複合体は生体親和性が高く、生体材料として有害な事象を示さなかった。
