Research Abstract

静止画が動いて見える錯視に関与している脳領域を調べた。「蛇の回転」錯視図を刺激として機能的MRIを用いてヒトの脳機能計測を行なったところ、ヒトMT+に有意な活動の上昇が見られた。これは、静止画が動いて見える錯視に関与する主要な脳領域は、視覚性運動処理の中枢の一つと考えられているヒトMT+であることを示唆する。また、「蛇の回転」錯視の生起には眼球運動が関係しているという考え方を支持する結果が得られた。そのほか、新型の静止画が動いて見える錯視が複数発見され、それらの特性は実験心理学的に検討された。
