Research Abstract

好適な生息環境、種数が少なく空白のニッチが多い、新しい環境の出現、といった要因が満たされるとなぜ急速な適応放散が起きるのか、その生態学的、遺伝学的プロセスを、海洋島などカンブリア爆発や大量絶滅直後の環境のモデルとなる場所の生物を通して明らかにした。このような環境では、資源利用の分化により地理的隔離なしに種分化が起きることにより、急速な形態と系統の多様化が起こりうることが示された
