Research Abstract |
中性子散乱法を用いて、環境応答型ゲルや驚異的な物性を誇るハイパーゲルの精密構造解析を行い、環境応答性や物性発現メカニズムを解明した。得られた構造情報を成分高分子の分子量、および温度や圧力、濃度といった環境因子の関数で記述することで、相転移や相分離といった劇的構造変化の背景にある物理現象の本質を把握し、疎水性相互作用と圧力の関係の究明、高性能高分子ゲルの物性発現の由来や高延伸性のメカニズムの解明など、物性物理に関わる多くの有用な研究成果を挙げた。
